Idiot of the Day - November 2, 2007

Britney Spears is our Idiot of the Day.

Court papers released Thursday in Britney Spears' custody dispute with Kevin Federline show she spends lavishly on clothes and entertainment, and doesn't save or invest any of her roughly $737,000 monthly income.

Spears' monthly expenses include $49,267 in mortgage for two houses, $16,000 for clothes and $102,000 on entertainment, gifts and vacation, according to her financial declaration.

Although she's often photographed eating fast food, Spears declares she spends about $4,758 per month dining out. Meanwhile, she spends zero on education, savings and investments and gives $500 a month in charitable contributions, the documents said.

Spend a night with Derek Jeter — park for free!

Derek Jeter needs to validate parking if he wants to keep his dalliances on the down-low. Such a policy would’ve spared the New York Yankees captain an embarrassing morning-after at Miami’s Shore Club, reports the New York Post’s Page Six.

According to the paper, a Page Six source posted in the hotel’s lobby recently spied “two scantily clad women screaming at the front desk because they had spent the night at Jeter's penthouse and were then charged for parking.”

“The girls were wearing what looked like the same clothes they wore the night before — a tight cocktail dress and a miniskirt,” the insider added. “They were making a huge scene because they were asked to pay for parking.”

Apparently, the women didn’t think a night with the infamous ladies’ man was worth forking out the extra dough. The insider overheard Derek’s gal pals yelling on a phone, “After last night, he'd better [bleep]ing take care of it!” Ouch.

It all worked out for the frugal females in the end. “They eventually left happy. I assume (Derek) paid for their parking after all.”

Idiot of the Day - October 16 2007

We had a couple of days of no idiots in the news but we knew that wouldn't last long. Russian President Vladimir Putin is our Idiot of the Day today.

Iran should be allowed to pursue its nuclear program for peaceful purposes, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday during the first visit to the country by a Kremlin leader since 1943.

Putin, who is in Tehran to attend a summit of Caspian Sea nations, said that he and the other leaders agreed that "peaceful nuclear activities must be allowed" in the region.

"The Iranians are cooperating with Russian nuclear agencies and the main objectives are peaceful objectives," he said.

Russia is building Iran's first nuclear power plant and has resisted moves by the U.S. and its allies to impose stronger U.N. sanctions against Tehran.

My comments:

Iran has made it clear to the world their goal is to wipe Israel off the face of the earth! All they need is a nuclear bomb! What is with Putin lately? He's flying nukes again, he wants to restart the arms race, and now he wants nukes in the Middle East? We all know Iran has enough oil they don't need nuclear power. This is just part of Russia and their nuclear arms race.

Idiots of the Day - October 13, 2007

Today's Idiots of the Day are Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon and all the parents whining about Hannah Montana.

This idiot, AG Jay Nixon, didn't do much research. He sits there blaming ticket brokers for Ticketmaster running out of tickets for Hannah Montana. He blames ticket brokers for using sophisticated software programs to bypass Ticketmaster security to block parents and buy all the tickets up. He blames brokers for the high prices. He must have slept through economics class. America strives on supply and demand.

The blame should be put where it belongs:

First, Ticketmaster for taking all the close rows and holding their own auctions. Winners paid hundreds and thousands of dollars some tickets.

Second, Ticketmaster/promoter/Miley Cyrus. Yes, Miley Cyrus. Seems thousands of tickets were held back for the promoters AND Miley Cyrus' people. These are the thousands of tickets released today. 1,900 tickets in St. Louis alone. They could have also added 2nd shows but holding back this many tickets deserves part of the blame.

Third, the whining parents. I'm so sick of reading how the ticket brokers are buying all the tickets and setting the prices ridiculously high. Let's get the facts straight. First of all, these arenas hold 16,000-20,000+ people. Broker networks had less than a 1,000 tickets for sale for each show. Many shows were less than 500. Second of all, read up on supply and demand. Brokers are not the ones dictating the price. The buyers are when they pay these prices. Items are only worth what people are willing to pay.

Quit the damn whining already. If you want prices to come down, QUIT PAYING THESE PRICES! I bet none of these people complain when a broker has a problem selling concert tickets for half price or less just to get something for them at the last minute. Just wait until a few days before the shows and prices will be way down from where they are now. All the whining is just a reason for brokers to keep them marked high for now whether they are getting these prices or not. This is not a necessity like food. It’s an optional luxury. Treat it like one.

Now go by your tickets at www.bigdogtickets.com Go look up shows for tonight and the next day or two. You'll see how low prices will go. The buyers drive the prices. Not the brokers so QUIT THE WHINING!

Prosecutor: Mom bought assault rifle for boy

The mother of a 14-year-old boy accused of planning a "Columbine-type" event at a high school was arrested Friday morning, prosecutors said.

Michele Cossey, 46, of Plymouth Meeting was charged with six criminal counts in connection with buying her son firearms and bomb-making equipment, including a .22-caliber handgun, a .22-caliber rifle and a 9mm semiautomatic rifle.

The charges are unlawful transfer of a fiream, possession of a firearm by a minor, corruption of a minor, endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of reckless endangerment.

A search of the boy's home Wednesday outside Philadelphia turned up the rifle, about 30 air-powered guns, swords, knives, a bomb-making book and videos of the 1999 Columbine High School attack.

Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce Castor Jr. said the weapons were plainly visible in the boy's bedroom.

Idiot of the Day - October 11, 2007

More idiotic that idiot. Just plain funny.

Woman seeks rich husband, banker says "crappy" deal

Deal or no deal? An online exchange between a woman looking for a husband who earns more than $500,000 a year and a mystery Wall Street banker, who assessed her potential for romance as a business deal, has cause quite an Internet stir.

"I dated a business man who makes average around 200 - 250. But that's where I seem to hit a roadblock. $250,000 won't get me to Central Park West," she said, asking questions like "where do rich single men hang out?"

The mystery banker, who said he fit the bill, offered the woman an analysis of her predicament, describing it as "plain and simple a crappy business deal."

"Your looks will fade and my money will likely continue into perpetuity ... in fact, it is very likely that my income increases but it is an absolute certainty that you won't be getting any more beautiful!" the banker wrote.

"So, in economic terms you are a depreciating asset and I am an earning asset," he said. "Let me explain, you're 25 now and will likely stay pretty hot for the next 5 years, but less so each year. Then the fade begins in earnest. By 35 stick a fork in you!"

"It doesn't make good business sense to "buy you" (which is what you're asking) so I'd rather lease," he said.
